"things men don’t know women hate". the things are all bronies. 125 slides of bronies. how about i make a slideshow and submit it to every site on the internet. how about that
*whispers* please don’t generalize many women are bronies too and I do hate what some bronies are like but ‘m not like that so please don’t include me because i try to be respectful to everyone
You seem much more concerned with people “grouping you in with them” than you are with calling out the members of your fandom that sexually assault underage girls and engage in aggressive misogyny so you probably ARE a little worse than you think
Think that statement through just a second. I don’t want to be included in them because I don’t agree with them. I don’t like what they do, in fact, I despise it, it disgusts me, but I don’t know any of them, I don’t FOLLOW any of them, and I haven’t even heard of the situation you’re mentioning precisely BECAUSE I’ve distanced myself from the fandom.
I just try and be nice to everyone, and stay as far away from that as possible.
If you’re more offended by someone being uncomfortable with bronies than you are with the fact that some bronies sexually assault underage girls
You’re doing it wrong and I won’t be nice to you
You’re assuming that I’m more offended by one thing than another. I find it sick what they’ve done and I definitely find it offensive, but I’m confused on how me simply saying that generalizing and stereotyping hurts, and it’s not fair, especially since if I were to ever MEET whoever sexually assaulted these girls, I would go to jail for assault, because if there’s one thing I don’t take kindly, it’s men acting like animals. Both because girls are not met and because men are not animals.
I just don’t want people to think, “Oh, you’re a brony? So you like raping underage girls and dislike women?” I’m not going to say that’s more unfair than the fucked up things that some bronies have been known to do, but it’s still unfair, though in a different way. It’s a two wrongs =/= a right kind of situation.
I truly don’t know anything abut any of this sexual assault that you’re talking about, but it makes me sick to be in the same fandom. I feel like, however, if we were to do an in-depth look into less vocal fandoms, they’ve probably done terrible, deplorable things as well. That doesn’t mean the fandom as a whole should be bastardized. Again, it’s definitely not as bad as the fucked-up things that have happened, but it’s still not right.
Have you ever actually punched a brony
Have you ever actually called out any brony, ever, for any inappropriate post they’ve ever made on this website
The other day when the blog “Molestia” got taken down and your brethren came out in droves with misogyny and rape threats, did you actually do anything about it
Or is it just the people who generalize bronies that you’re uncomfortable with
You can have all the good thoughts in your heart that you want
If you don’t DO SHIT about awful people in your fandom
But get upset every time someone talks about how uncomfortable your awful fucking fandom is
You’re one of the awful parts of the fandom no matter how many sunshiny good thoughts you have
If I haven’t made myself clear enough, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to not get my point across, and I’m sorry if I’m frustrating you.
As I said before, I follow very few brony blogs. The ones I do are simply musicians, who are openly against the bad parts of the fandom. Therefore, I’ve seen none of the posts that you’re referring to, and therefore cannot respond to them. I’m only just hearing about the “Molestia” thing, though I think I skimmed past a few posts from the aforementioned artists, and from what I saw, they agreed with the decision to remove the blog.
I have yet to come across a brony I had a reason to harm, as far as I know, though if I missed my opportunity to punch a misogynistic rapist in the face, I’m sorry, because I didn’t know. I’ve talked to very few bronies, and know even less about their personal lives.
The fact is, I’ve seen very little chance, on my blog, at least, to do anything about the bad parts of the fandom. Up until this point, I’ve only known of the misogyny, which, overall, I show no signs of having. If you believe me to be misogynistic from any of my opinions or posts, please tell me, and I’ll either explain my reasoning, or listen to your argument and, most likely, agree with you.
I’m only responding to this post about generalization because it crossed my dash, from a blog I’m very fond of, so I just wanted to say that I don’t feel that stereotyping helps, no matter the situation.
I’m sorry if you disagree, but I truly have had no opportunities to fight against the wrong side of my fandom, and didn’t realize the extent to which they have harmed people. I’m truly sorry for the ignorant parts of my fandom. I’ll be sure to be more vocal about them and keep my eyes open for more cases such as this.
